Fitting

We want to help ensure you receive a proper fitting jacket.
Most of our jackets are designed with an extended drop shoulder (much like a football jumper) – this means more room to move, bending down or stretching out…..

How to choose the right jacket for you?

Try these simple tests – you should have plenty of space between the fabric and your body for comfort and skin protection against hot liquids or flames.
1. Reach above your head – no restriction
2. Reach forward – no restriction
3. Bend forward – no restriction
4. Put an apron on.
5. Fold up the cuffs.

Footwear fitting: we display the MALE UK size in our drop down size menu.
*Female Sizing -  simply choose your normal UK size and minus 2 sizes when ordering on this site:

Fabric Care and Recommendations

Global Chef® recommends our specially produced 65/35 Polyester Cotton fabric for optimum performance, comfort and appearance in Jackets, Pants and Aprons.  For Yarn dyed fabrics (Check Trousers, Executive Trousers and Patterned Bib Aprons & Hats) we recommend both 65/35 Poly Viscose or 65/35 Polyester Cotton for colour fastness, easy care and comfort.

Global Chef® fabrics are custom milled to meet the specific needs of today's Foodservice professional and commercial laundries. Your uniforms can and do last a long time and the life of any investment in your Chef uniforms is directly influenced by how you and your laundry care for your investment. Here is a guide for your laundry to ensure your chef uniforms look better for longer :

ALL WASHABLE GARMENTS HAVE CARE LABELS ATTACHED. THESE LABELS ARE A REMINDER THAT UNLESS YOU CARE FOR YOUR GARMENT IT MAY NOT PERFORM AS YOU EXPECT.

Note: All garments have been tested to perform well when care instructions are followed. Warranty is void if care instructions are not followed. After sale tests are available to show if chlorine, bleaches  or excessive temperatures have been used in the laundry cycle (cost paid by customer).

These care instructions should be kept as your reference.

To protect the life of garments 7 key factors must be understood and followed:
1. Temperatures – never too hot (Warm wash and dry only Max 40 degrees C.)
2. No Chlorine or other bleaching agent to be used at any time – use non-chlorine oxygen based whiteners on white garments but not bleach.
3. Abrasions (no harsh contacts) – do not overfill machines; avoid harsh objects and remove removable items (e.g. pop-through buttons and button caps); remove items from pockets.
4. Mixing colours – do not combine different coloured garments in the same wash.
5. Wash separately. Do not mix or soak different fabrics in the same wash. (e.g. do not wash 100% cotton fabrics with Blended fabrics.)
6. Do not soak coloured garments in any chemical. Spray soil release onto affected (stained) area as a pre-wash treatment before washing normally.
7. Balance chemicals to your local water hardness. Different water can affect the fabric by causing unwanted colour loss from garments or causing some white fabrics to turn a different colour. Check with your local authorities on recommendations for chemicals to ensure colour and fabrics last longer.
8. Use quality detergents. Check that chemicals are of a high quality as lower cost chemicals usually contain chlorine.

ALL WHITE FABRICS

DEFINITELY NO BLEACH INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CHLORINE BASED DETERGENTS.
STUBBORN STAINS -USE A PREWASH STAIN REMOVER -DO NOT SOAK MORE THAN 2 HOURS (ONLY USE MILD DETERGENTS.)
WARM WASH (MAXIMUM 40 DEGREES C.)
DO NOT OVER FILL MACHINES
DO NOT HOT DRY – HANG TO DRY WARM - HOT IRON

ALL COLOURED FABRICS

AS ABOVE - DO NOT MIX COLOURS

Note: If the fabric contains cotton then it will fade eventually. This is normal as cotton is a natural fibre which will break down over time. Especially ensure no bleach is used on any coloured fabric and avoid soaking coloured garments. Coloured garments in workwear should be treated with extra care by laundries to ensure the colour-fastness and performance of fabrics.
